Richard Kwizda

Richard Kwizda first began studying at the Montanistische Hochschule in Leoben, but then switched to studying pharmacy and chemistry, as he was to continue the work of his father and grandfather in the family business. In 1924, he graduated with a master’s degree in pharmacy and took over the company, managing to expand it significantly despite the difficult economic situation.

However, his activity was not limited to the economic aspect, but he turned intensively to the creation of new medicinal specialties. Thus he was able to initiate a steep rise of the company (Kwizda Pharma). Furthermore, in 1926 he founded a plant protection department (Kwizda Agro), whose main task was the research and development of plant protection products.
